"Now as a coach, it is my hope to help players maintain that love for the game while also helping them develop their soccer skills."
QTSD™ TECHNICAL DEVELOPMENT COACH
KAYCEE JOHNSTON
PERSONAL MISSION:
My personal mission is to create a fun and hard working environment where athletes can develop their soccer knowledge while also keeping their love for the game.
LIGHT BULB MOMENT:
I realized my love for soccer came from watching the professionals play. When I was younger, I started to fall out of love with the game due to many personal reasons. At the time I had never watched a professional soccer game, but after I watched my first professional soccer game I fell in love with the game again. It made me want to work hard so I could play like the professionals I watched on TV. Now as a coach, it is my hope to help players maintain that love for the game while also helping them develop their soccer skills.
ONE THING I'D CHANGE IN SOCCER:
One change I would like to make to youth soccer is to really focus on their love for the game. I feel like when I was playing youth soccer, there was so much focus on winning, college recruiting, and making it into the best leagues that I started to lose my love for the game. While these things are no doubt extremely important in youth soccer, I feel that it is also important to remember the fun parts of the game in order to maintain youth players' love for the game.
